Closer to barefoot than anything else in our range. The Saguaro Ground I is a five-toe barefoot shoe with an ultra-thin 2.8 mm sole and a knit upper that fits like a second skin. Each toe sits in its own pocket, so your feet spread, flex and move the way they do without shoes, while the sole stays between you and the gym floor, the mat or the path.

Made for experienced barefoot wearers

Ground is Saguaro's shoe for people who already wear minimalist shoes and want the next step down. With 2.8 mm underfoot you feel every change in the surface. That's the point. If you're coming from cushioned trainers, start with a Smart II or Fast I and work up to Ground.

Where it belongs

• Gym and indoor training: lifting, mobility work and functional sessions, with your whole foot in contact with the floor.
• Light outdoor runs: short runs on smooth ground when you want to feel every step.
• All year round: a light, low-top knit for warm days and indoor sessions in winter.

Fit: a toe shoe has to match your foot length closely, so each toe reaches the end of its pocket.
